CML Audio has a unique loudspeaker design

philosophy that is embodied within its Curvi and Etude product lines. Whilst very different in aesthetic design principles, they share the same core concepts which include the use of wide-bandwidth drive units, to cover the vast majority of the audio frequency range, and tailored cabinet design that ensures rapid dissipation of vibrational energy that allows the temporal accuracy, characteristic of wide-band drive units, to be preserved.

Elimination of the usual mid-range

(or bass-midrange) to tweeter crossover point imbues CML Audio loudspeakers with a unique degree of coherence, immediacy and realism.

In order to realise these goals

CML Audio has selected the best state of the art wide bandwidth magneto-dynamic drive unit technologies and has engaged Christien Ellis of CE Electroacoustics to carry out system simulation, measurement and voicing.

The debut product in the Etude range

uses an array of two recently developed balanced mode radiator (BMR) drive units. The Curvi product is a unique blend of sophisticated industrial design and the well established Jordan - Esoteric Audio Devices full range drive unit.

Both products have received

critical acclaim: Kevin Gallucci of Sound Stage Network considered the Curvi Model 1 V2 to have a naturally warm open midrange and some of the deepest and most expressive bass he has heard from a speaker of its size. Martin Colloms and Paul Messenger considered the Etude 1 to be a highlight of National Audio Show 2010.

Paul Messenger in his Hi-Fi

Critic review, praises the Etude 1 for its "electrostatic-like coherence through the mid-band… which brings solidity to voices - both singing and speech".
